Hamilton Ranch

Client Profile
The owners of Hamilton Ranch have long prioritized environmental stewardship. In 2021, they partnered with OnSite Energy to install decentralized, net-metered solar PV systems as part of a broader commitment to sustainability.
The carbon-reducing benefits of solar align with the ranch’s conservation ethos, reflected in past watershed restoration efforts and thoughtful land management. Solar also supports long-term financial resilience by stabilizing electricity costs over the system’s 25-year lifespan.
This project demonstrates Hamilton Ranch’s commitment to sustainable land use and energy independence.
Case Study
Following a comprehensive energy and site analysis, key locations were identified for solar PV integration based on load profiles, electrical infrastructure, and geographic suitability.
Phase 1 included systems at the Bench Pivot, Ranch Manager’s Barn, and Middle Island Pump, totaling 141 kW.
Phase 2, added three additional systems:
- Middle Tash / Airport Pivots – 76.3 kW, offsetting 67% of annual usage
- Upper Tash Pivot – 50.9 kW , offsetting 108% of annual usage
- Stalcup Swipes / Full Pivots – 70 kW, offsetting 105% of annual usage
These systems were custom-designed in close collaboration with the ranch owner, manager, and preferred contractors to ensure minimal site impact and seamless integration with existing operations.
Hamilton Ranch’s investment in distributed solar is a testament to their forward-thinking values—supporting both environmental and economic sustainability for generations to come.
