Heart of the Valley going solar

A few years ago, Kathryn Hohmann opened a January energy bill totaling almost $10,000.Meanwhile, in another room at Heart of the Valley Animal Shelter, it was so cold that water had frozen in some of the dogs’ bowls.While the bill was due in part to a malfunction in the heating and air conditioning system, it was also startling to the shelter’s development director.
